I love my parents. I truly do. I also love having them visit. However, in the past year having more visits from my parents has led to the realization I must be careful of several things.
A few things to be careful of when parents visit:
1. Carpet- it needs to be vaccuumed. This isn't a big one, thus why it is first
2. Sheets- however much you offer, they will refuse to take your bedroom, so make sure to have clean sheets and air mattresses
3. Towels- make sure to have clean towels for everyone visiting. Otherwise they may take a spit bath and use hand towels so as not to bother you with the request for a towel.
3 1/2. **If Becks is visiting be sure to include detailed instructions on how to turn on the shower. Otherwise, she might break it. Twice.
4. Bills- these need to be out of sight. Especially if they are overdue.
5. Air conditioner- prepare to have the air conditioner on more. Remember, they keep their house like a freezer, so they may feel a little overheated if your A/C is set to 83 degrees.
6. Toilet paper- 3 (or 4 if Kevin is coming) people go through a lot more toilet paper than 1 person. Make sure to plan accordingly.
7. Plunger- if Kevin is coming there is no question. This is as necessary as having enough blankets for everyone.
8. Fridge- Make sure to stock it with food or you will be threatened with a double loaded cart shopping trip.
9. Food- See #8, but also make sure none of the food is past its expiration date. That would be bad.
10. Cups/plates/silverware- These people are not used to eating meals over the sink. They require tools of a civilized people.
11. Bedtime- This needs to be reinforced. Otherwise parents will keep you up late and you will be exhausted the next day at work.
12. Keys- Make sure to put your keys in a hiding place. Otherwise your father may see keys sitting out, determine they must be his, stick them in his pocket, and take them all the way to Arizona.

I beg to differ on the keeping the house like a freezer part. I often find the house too warm. Also your mom doesn't worry too much over expiration dates on food (she's more flexible in this department than I am), so no worries there.
